I am not officially calling this a certification program. Why? Thai massage is a life-long learning, artisanal practice that is much more in depth than any certificate stands for. Eastern medicine, and other artisan practices, traditionally require years of training alongside your teacher before you are deemed skilled and knowledgable enough to go out and work hands-on unsupervised. Of course this is not the way i
That said, upon completion of this program you will be highly skilled and proficient in Thai massage and bodywork and able to confidently treat clients and loved ones. -
Most Thai bodywork is done clothed. There are, however, a couple of therapeutic treatments practiced with oils that require skin to be exposed (abdominal massage and some back work), but it is always done in a modest way that protects the client. All the bodywork work in this immersion course is done on a mat on the floor with special attention to bolstering and body mechanics.
-
There are no prerequisite to join this program! The program is designed so both students who are new to Thai massage and those who are more advanced will thrive.
To get the most out of this training you must be able to kneel on the mat and get up and down from the floor for several hours in a day. Attention will be given to proper body mechanics that work with your needs.
Please do not take this course if you are pregnant or planning on becoming pregnant during the course run, many of these bodywork therapies and herbal formulas are contraindicated for pregnancy. If you have any major health considerations please contact me before applying for you course so we can make sure it will be safe for you and your classmates. -
